This weekend we took a ride out to the most eastern point of New York State - Montauk, Long Island. We had blessedly lovely weather, and a popsicle colored sunset to cap it off. We decided to forgo the Lighthouse climb given a 1+ wait in line, and instead walked along the rock jetty on the back of the point, which turned out to yield a better (and lighthouse inclusive) view. No trip would be complete without eating some local fresh fish, and the Harvest of Ford Pond delivered (thanks Mom for the recommendation!). The food was local and fresh, and the outdoor garden seating on the pond was quite romantic. We capped off the weekend with a little wine tasting at Duck Walk Vineyard, to prepare ourselves for our soon-approaching California vineyard trip. After a lot of swirling and tasting, I walked away with a very tasty and fancy bottle of Blueberry Port, which must be eaten with chocolate, whilst wearing a monocle and tuxedo of course.
